Getting Here

Getting to Tiskita

Tiskita is remote, but getting here is part of the journey. We’ll help you choose the best route for your dates, arrival time and travel style.

Where We Are

Remote Southern Costa Rica

Tiskita is located near Punta Banco on Costa Rica’s remote southern Pacific coast, close to the Panamanian border and facing the Golfo Dulce.

Travel Context

At the end of the road

Most guests travel through Golfito, then continue south along the coast toward Punta Banco and Tiskita.

Because the lodge is remote, we recommend planning your arrival time and transportation in advance.

Recommended Route

Fly to Golfito

Enjoy a regional flight from San José to Golfito, which takes approximately 50 minutes. From Golfito, a scenic taxi ride takes about 1.5 hours to Tiskita.

You can book your regional flight directly with Sansa, or we can help you coordinate the flight and book it through us.

It is also possible to rent a car in Golfito and drive down from there. This can be ideal if you are staying longer, want to explore more of the area, or plan to surf every day.

Fly to Puerto Jiménez + Boat

This is a more adventurous alternative to flying into Golfito. You fly from San José to Puerto Jiménez on the Osa Peninsula, then cross the Golfo Dulce by boat toward Tiskita.

The regional flight takes approximately 50 minutes, and the boat ride across the gulf usually takes about one hour. It can be a beautiful way to arrive, especially if your travel day allows enough time. Ocean conditions are almost always favorable in the dry season in the morning time before the wind picks up.

This option works best if you are able to leave San José early in the morning. The boat can carry a maximum of 6 people.
